On 2 March 2020, 19 cases were reported in [[Brittany (administrative region)|Brittany]].<ref name="France 3 Bretagne-2020"/> Two were in the western city of [[Brest, France|Brest]], an elderly man from [[Plougonvelin]], returning from a trip from Egypt<ref name="letelegramme12513463"/><ref name="PAISTEL-2020"/> and his wife.<ref name="letelegramme12485342"/> There were also four cases in the regional capital [[Rennes]], a firefighter and his wife, and two people who had returned from [[Veneto]].<ref name="France 3 Bretagne-2020" /> 13 others cases were reported in [[Morbihan]], around a cluster of 6 in [[Crac'h]], 3 in [[Auray]], 3 in [[Carnac]] and 1 in [[Saint-Philibert, Morbihan|Saint-Philibert]].<ref name="France 3 Bretagne-2020" />

Also on 2 March 2020, the fourth death in France, and the first one in [[Brittany (administrative region)|Brittany]] occurred, a 92-year-old man, who had been hospitalised in [[Vannes]].<ref name="letelegramme12515408"/><ref name="francetvinfo1794551"/>

As of 29 March 2020, 962 cases had been reported as follows : 208 in [[Ille-et-Vilaine]], 230 in [[Finistère]], 313 in [[Morbihan]] and 107 in [[Côtes d'Armor]].<ref name="20200309fr/system/files/2020-03/2020-03-09%20bulletin%20information%20COVID-19%20%28002%29"/>
